OUR STORY

From 2012 to today.

WE. SMSF was founded in 2012 by Andre Dirckze, with a simple proposition: that self-managed superannuation deserved its own specialist firm. Not a side desk in a general practice. Not a volume processor. A firm that did one thing.

In 2023, Shaun McCheane joined as Co-Founder. A Chartered Accountant holding the CA SMSF Specialist designation through CA ANZ, and a registered tax agent, Shaun’s arrival sharpened the firm’s technical capability and modernised the systems behind it.

Today, WE. SMSF administers funds for trustees across Australia, partners with financial advisers who need a referral relationship they can rely on, and supports general-practice accountants who want SMSF compliance handled by specialists. We’ve stayed deliberately small. That’s the point.

Shaun is a Chartered Accountant, holds the CA SMSF Specialist designation through CA ANZ, and is a registered tax agent. Based in Currumbin Waters on the Gold Coast, he leads the firm’s technical and compliance work: financials, tax returns, ATO correspondence, technical queries from advisers and accountants, and the trickier matters like pensions, LRBAs, business real property and in-house asset reviews. He joined Andre in 2023 to build WE. SMSF into a firm that handles SMSF work properly rather than at volume.
